We were thrilled to receive the “Most Edmonton Startup” award during the first-ever Edmonton Startup Awards!

With this award, the Edmonton Startup Community recognized the RWI team for taking some gigantic risks in the field of AI-based modelling applied to some of the world’s biggest problems - energy transition, resilience, mobility, and equity. RWI has pioneered a Synthetic Modelling Platform, a catalogue of reactive, responsive entities and interconnected models that include people in a living digital twin design environment. These models help strategic planning, technology companies and research institutes rapidly model, trial and validate impact calculations while they are pursuing better futures for everyone. RWI’s modelling doesn’t rely on surveillance data, and as such we are able to characterize everyone in a city or region, including marginalized people who may be affected by complex intersectionalities.

Alex Kozicki, a YEG Startup Community Awards member, said, “We think they’re (RWI) a very deserving recipient, they value diversity, and they have an international footprint.”

“While we aren’t well known in our own community, this award had a big impact on our team. We have been working really hard and have received many international awards for our work, but this one is kind of like making your parents proud,” says Myrna Bittner, CEO Co-Founder.

We are excited to continue onward and upwards (maybe even to space!) in our endeavors in Synthetic Modelling. Stay tuned as we have many big things planned!
